This project involved detailed assessment of a horizontal subsea tie-in spool between two pipelines. A leak was observed in a subsea flange of the spool. The objective of this project was to perform FE analysis of the spool to find out the root cause of the leak on the flange. Abaqus FE software was used for the analysis. A 3D solid model of the flange assembly comprising of Weldneck Flange, Swivel Ring Flange, bolts and gaskets was also analysed to assess the integrity of the flange.
