Hazteck Global Solutions FZC, United Arab Emirates have been appointed Consultant by Meliora Methanol Ltd, Aleto, and Port Harcourt, Nigeria for rendering Consultancy Services for their Project – Underwater Ammonia and Methanol Pipelines Project in Nigeria.
Indorama operates a large-scale Petrochemical and Fertilizer complex at Port Harcourt, Nigeria. They are a leading producer of Urea (nitrogenous fertilizer), Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE) in the sub-Saharan Africa.
Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL), the Petrochemicals division, produces 350 Kilo Tons of Polymer (PE & PP) annually, utilizing Natural Gas Liquids as feedstock. Indorama Eleme Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), operates two Ammonia & Urea trains (2,300 TPD Ammonia & 4,000 TPD Urea each) with a combined annual production capacity of 2.8 million Tons of Urea.
In line with the planned expansion / diversification projects, they intend to set up a Methanol & Ammonia co-production facility in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This site is located close to a creek and will have a dedicated Jetty, about 20 kms away, for the product evacuation. The manufacturing site & storage tanks need to be connected to the jetty through underwater pipelines to transport the products.
As part of this project, wall thickness calculations, on-bottom stability analysis and pipeline routing has been performed.
